The firefighters’ social club at Kirk Michael station celebrated a milestone, having raised more than £60,000 in 15 years.
Various events in 2019 saw the fire crews raise just under £2,900 throughout the year which has been split between charities.
The figure was celebrated with a team photograph with station officer John Cashin and sub officer Alan Brew holding up a cheque showing the 2019 total, £2,867.65.
The money has been donated to the Firefighters Charity, Hospice Isle of Man in memory of leading firefighter Kevin Quinn, Bowel Cancer Research, Friends of Kirk Michael School, Friends of Chernobyl Children and the Kirk Michael Endowment Committee.
A fire service spokesman said: ’For such a small community like Kirk Michael it never ceases to amaze us the support and generosity we receive at our various events.
’Thanks go to all involved in organising, delivering and donating.’
