A fisherman punched a man he found in his ex-girlfriend’s house.
Callum Kermode Bevan, aged 25, of Treljah Lane, Glen Maye, admitted common assault and was fined £750 and ordered to pay £250 in compensation to his victim.
Prosecutor Rebecca Cubbon said Bevan went to the woman’s house on July 1.
He entered through the back door and saw his ex with a man who he knew used to date his cousin.
Bevan said he asked the man to go outside with him but when he stood up Bevan began punching him around the head and face. One punch caused the man to hit his head on the arm of a chair.
Bevan told his victim: ’Don’t worry, you’ll be getting this every day,’ before leaving.
He was arrested and during a police interview gave ’no comment’ responses.
Bevan told probation there had been talk of them getting back together. He said he had received a message from her that day. Bevan said he knew the back door and that he would normally just walk in and call to her.
Advocate David Clegg said: ’Mr Bevan had previously been a friend of the victim. The victim and his cousin had discussed their relationship resuming so Mr Bevan was doubly shocked.’
High Bailiff Mrs Hughes said: ’It is fortunate there weren’t more serious injuries.’
Bevan told his victim: ’Don’t worry, you’ll be getting this every day,’ before leaving.
