Motorists were lucky to escape with minor injuries after five cars were involved in a collision at Churchtown, Lezayre.

Police said a car heading towards Sulby veered into oncoming traffic, clipping the rear off-side of car travelling towards Ramsey and then having a full front impact with a second.

Two other cars were involved in the collision, which took place at about 5.40pm on Tuesday (October 30), .

Police said two drivers suffered minor injuries.

The road was closed for a time between the war memorial and Garey Road.

This morning (Thursday), emergency services attended a collision between a car and motorbike on Central Promenade, Douglas, near the Castle Mona Hotel.

There were no injuries reported in the accident that took place about 8.45am.
