Fire crews responded to reports of a flat fire in Laxey yesterday afternoon.
Upon arrival, Douglas and Laxey crews tended to the sole occupant of the flat before isolating services and committing a team of breathing apparatus wearers to the property.
The owner had closed the door to the kitchen which meant that there was minimal smoke damage to the remainder of the property.
Crews were in attendance yesterday to ensure that the property was fully ventilated and to reinstate services in conjunction with Manx Gas.
The owner evacuated the property at the earliest opportunity and did not suffer any injuries.
