Returning residents must not self-isolate in a shared house with people they’ve not travelled with.

Police have issued a statement about the need to follow self-isolation notice rules to the letter.

A spokesman said: ’It is important that people arriving on the island strictly follow their isolation notice rules. You have to isolate on your own or with the person you travelled with.

’Simply put - you cannot stay at an address with any other people. If there were any exceptions it would be detailed on your notice.

’You can get arrested for failing to follow the rules and you may end up in court.

’A strong border and isolation rules are vitally important in stopping the virus getting out into the community.’
