A jury has acquitted a man of rape at the end of a five-day trial.
The jury of six women and one man took just one hour to reach their verdict on 32-year-old Philip Neill Baillie.
Deemster Alastair Montgomerie thanked them for their time and discharged them.
The defendant has already admitted a second charge of assault causing actual bodily harm involving the same victim and arising out of the same set of circumstances.
He remains on remand pending completion of a pre-sentence report and reappears before the deemster for sentencing on March 8.
