A motorist has admitted driving while more than three times the legal drink-drive limit.
Jacob Leonard Martin Lane, of Empress Drive, Douglas, was reported to police by another motorist, who was so concerned about his standard of driving that she removed the keys from him when she saw the vehicle stopped.
Lane, aged 25, failed a breathalyser test with a reading of 114 - the legal limit is 35.
He will be sentenced on April 16 after a probation report has been completed.
She said the driving was frightening her so when she saw the vehicle stop she got out and took the keys from Lane.
He made off down Church Road but was later found by police, who said he was unsteady on his feet and slurring his words.
He swore at them as he was arrested, and once at police headquarters failed the breathalyser test.
Deputy High Bailiff Jayne Hughes ordered that the probation report considers all options, including custody.
Bail was granted in the sum of £500 with a condition not to drive.
