Fire crews from Kirk Michael and Douglas were called out to deal with a gorse fire on the West Baldwin Road at Injebreck earlier today.

Firefighters used hose reels and beaters to quickly extinguish the fire, which affected an area measuring around 100 metres by 50 metres, to prevent it from spreading further up the hillside.

The road remained open while the operation took place and crews were in attendance for about 30 minutes.
