The driver of a vehicle that crashed into a van in a car park drove off without reporting the incident.

Police say the incident happened at 1.30pm on Tuesday in the car park at the junction of Farrants Way and Queen’s Street, Castletown.

A blue Ford Transit Custom van sustained damage to its rear offside wheel arch and bumper.

A police spokesman said: ’Our CCTV inquires so far have identified that this damage may have been caused by a gentleman driving a dark metallic grey Nissan Qashqai.

’This gentleman subsequently moved his vehicle to another parking bay in front of the old Castletown fire station building before then walking into Castletown Square past the police station. This gentleman later returned to his vehicle and drove off.

’It is believed that the dark metallic grey Nissan Qashqai will have sustained damage to its front nearside bumper or wing.’

The motorist was wearing a pair of blue denim jeans, a light shirt and a dark blouson jacket.
