A huge search operation was mounted after reports of a vulnerable female missing from home.

Police co-ordinated a multi-agency search including three teams from the Search and Rescue Dog Association following a call-out at just before 8.10pm on Sunday evening.

Search dog Matt with handler Mark Marshall and search dog Holly with handler Gary Wright were tasked to search open areas in Douglas near the young woman’s home.

Trailing search dog Ruby, with handler Jim McGregor, was able to follow a positive trail, allowing police to allocate resources ahead.

With falling light, Civil Defence, the Fire and Rescue Service and a drone from Hawkeye Logic were deployed to a rural area which was a significant distance from the missing person’s home in Douglas.

Police said the search area was flooded with searchers.

Fortunately, the missing person was located safe and well.
