A woman has admitted crashing her car while more than three times the drink-drive limit.
Tarran Vera Losh failed a breathalyser test with a reading of 116. The legal limit is 35.
The 33-year-old will be sentenced on April 1 after a probation report has been completed.
She crashed into a parked vehicle as she was coming into Peel.
Losh, who lives in Reayrt Aalin, Peel, then got out of the car and went to a friend’s house.
They then walked to Peel police station and used an emergency phone outside to contact officers as the station is not always manned.
Police arrived at 3.54am and reported that Losh was unsteady on her feet, slurring her words, and smelling of alcohol.
She was taken to police headquarters where she produced the 116 reading.
When interviewed she admitted the offence.
The court heard that her last conviction was in 2008 but was not driving-related.
Defence advocate David Clegg said: ’I would submit that Ms Losh is to be commended for her unusual level of honesty.
’She could have parked the car, gone to her house and no-one would have known about the accident.
’She drove less than a mile, she wasn’t coming from Kirk Michael.
’She has done everything she could have done afterwards. It is an unusual set of facts for a drink-driving offence considering the level of responsibility and honesty after the fact.’
Mr Clegg requested a probation report to be prepared before sentencing.
Deputy High Bailiff Chris Arrowsmith ordered that the report consider all options, including custody.
Bail continues in the sum of £500 with conditions to live at her home address, contact probation, and not leave the island without court consent.
