A 39-year-old joiner has been fined £450 for two motoring offences.
Mark Tiernan admitted having no driving licence and no insurance.
High Bailiff Jayne Hughes also endorsed his licence with six penalty points.
Prosecuting advocate James Robinson told the court that police saw Tiernan driving a Subaru Outback on Douglas Road in Castletown on March 28.
Police followed him to Balthane Industrial Estate in Ballasalla where he parked and they spoke to him.
His vehicle licence was found to have expired in February but this was dealt with by a £60 fixed penalty notice.
His driving licence had expired on March 14 and he was not insured.
Defence advocate Paul Rodgers said that Tiernan, who lives in Ballakneale Avenue, Port Erin, had split up with his partner at the time and that his papers were not in order.
’He was struggling to keep up with things. He had insurance for other vehicles,’ said the advocate.
’It was a one-off error in using the vehicle.’
High Bailiff Jayne Hughes also ordered Tiernan to pay £50 prosecution costs which he will pay along with the fine at a rate of £100 per month.
