Philip Tomkinson, of Tynwald Road, swore at a bouncer and called him ’foreign’ after he was thrown out of the nightclub.
The 32-year-old also told security staff he would ’smash their faces in’ and attempted to punch one bouncer.
He admitted an offence of being drunk and disorderly.
High Bailiff Jayne Hughes banned him from entering licensed premises, and purchasing or being sold alcohol for three months.
Mrs Hughes told Tomkinson: ’You might consider yourself fortunate you are not charged with a more serious offence.
’You were asked to leave the premises several times and there was an element of racism.’
Prosecutor James Robinson told the court how police were called to the Athol Street nightclub at 11.20pm on September 22 after a report of Tomkinson behaving violently and aggressively.
When officers arrived he was being restrained on the ground by the security staff who said that he had attempted to get into the bar on numerous occasions after being asked to leave.
Tomkinson was said to have shouted abuse as he was restrained by the staff, threw a punch which missed and kicked out.
Defence advocate David Clegg said: ’This is Mr Tomkinson’s first offence in this jurisdiction. He is a self-employed joiner.
’This was a planned night out with people he knew professionally. They were going out for a meal so he had not eaten. Unfortunately the plan changed and he ended up drinking on an empty stomach which contributed to the state he found himself in.’
Mr Clegg went on to ask for credit to be given for his client’s guilty plea.
Tomkinson was also ordered to pay £125 prosecution costs. He will pay the fine and costs at a rate of £150 per month.
