Emergency services were called this afternoon to deal with a kitchen fire at a home in Andreas.

Fire crews, alerted at just before 2pm, were met on arrival by the occupier who confirmed that everyone was out of the building and that the kitchen was smoke logged.

Firefighters entered the home wearing breathing apparatus and using a high pressure hose reel.

The fire was out on arrival and had been caused by kitchenware leftK on top of a hob.

Crews vented the property with positive pressure fans and remained in attendance for about 30 minutes.
