Fire crews from Douglas responded to a fire at about 8.20am this morning at Noble’s Hospital

On arrival the officer in charge of the first appliance liaised with staff from the hospital who confirmed that there was a fire in a light fitting.

Members of staff had quickly identified the location of the fire when the fire alarm operated. Staff had tackled the fire prior to arrival of crews using hand appliances on site.

One team was deployed due to the smoke logging of the compartment involved and used a thermal imaging camera to confirm the fire had been fully extinguished.

Crews remained in attendance for approximately 40 minutes to carry out safety checks to make sure the area could be re-occupied by staff and the public.

In total three fire appliances, one aerial ladder platform, the duty officer and the brigade officer attended the small fire.
