A man who had to be restrained by bouncers outside Jaks has been fined £600 and banned from licensed premises for three months.
James Michael Roney, aged 39, of Laburnum Avenue, Pulrose, admitted being disorderly on licensed premises.
Prosecutor Barry Swain told the court how, on July 29, Roney was drinking in Jaks bar on Loch Promenade.
He was asked to leave by staff due to him being too drunk in their opinion.
Roney initially refused but then did go outside. However, he then refused to leave the area and tried to get back into the pub by a side door.
He was stopped but then some time later staff realised he had managed to get back into the bar.
Bouncers
He was asked to leave again but swore at staff and then tried to grab one member of staff by the throat as they escorted him out.
He was eventually restrained on the ground and warned bouncers: ’I’m going to come back and get you all. I’m going to kill you.’
He was arrested when police arrived and later, at police headquarters, said he could not remember much of what happened.
Asked about his language he said it sounded like behaviour he would probably have presented with, though he denied intending to assault staff.
Defence advocate Matthew Wilshaw said: ’Mr Roney has been in drink and can’t recall much of what happened.
’He had been out for a friend’s birthday, it was meant to be for a few drinks.
’But he found himself in Jaks the worse for wear. He accepts he was a pain in the neck for door staff and wants to apologise.’
Deputy High Bailiff Jayne Hughes ordered Roney to pay £125 prosecution costs.
