Richard Malcolm Powell, aged 61, of Lhergy Cripperty, Union Mills, has appeared in court charged with assault causing actual bodily harm.

He is also accused of theft of a mobile telephone.

The offences are alleged to have been committed at BCC Cars in Kirk Michael on December 20.

Emma Louise Mardlin, aged 38, of the same address, is also jointly charged with the phone theft.

The case was adjourned until Monday, May 10, at the request of advocate James Peterson, who represented Ms Mardlin, to allow time to review the case papers.

Mr Powell, who represented himself, also asked for the adjournment.

Bail continues with conditions in relation to Mr Powell that he does not enter BCC Cars, and not contact the complainant.
