A 44-year-old man from Castletown appeared before the Deputy High Bailiff this week charged with attempted robbery.
Paul Sunday Akinmurele, of James Road, will be committed to the Court of General Gaol on November 6.
He is also accused of behaviour likely to cause belief unlawful violence may be used, which he has denied, three counts of property damage, one of being drunk and disorderly, and one of possessing a prohibited article in a public place.
He will appear in court again in respect of those charges on October 9 after a mental health assessment has been completed.
No bail application was made and he was remanded in custody.
