A 23-year-old man has admitted an offence of provoking behaviour after threatening a fellow resident at probation accommodation, Tromode House.
Liam Luke Kaighin, of Tromode House, Braddan, threatened to slit the throat of the man.
In court on Tuesday, Kaighin launched a foul-mouthed tirade at High Bailiff Jayne Hughes, swearing several times when he found out he was not being sentenced and his case was being adjourned.
The case was adjourned to establish how many hours Kaighin has completed of a 200-hour community service order put in place in October.
He had told his advocate he had completed 74 hours but records showed he had completed zero hours.
Kaighin then said that he had been signed off work with health issues. He was remanded in custody and will be sentenced on February 18.
Prosecuting advocate Hazel Carroon told the court how the incident at Tromode House took place on January 10.
Police were called to the probation accommodation at 10.30pm after staff said that Kaighin had been causing issues with other residents.
He was said to have abused and threatened one man and was subsequently arrested.
Defence advocate Paul Glover said that his client had spent 11 days in custody since the offence.
It was said that Kaighin no longer had a place at Tromode House and another bail address, belonging to his father, had been deemed unsuitable.
Mrs Hughes adjourned the case saying more information was needed on how many hours Kaighin has completed of the previous community service order.
