Paul Michael Dale Ford, aged 29, of Willaston Crescent, Douglas, was this week committed to the Court of General Gaol Delivery.
He is charged with attempted murder, possession of an offensive weapon, making threats to kill, and assault causing actual bodily harm.
He will appear at the higher court on a date to be fixed.
No bail application was made and he is remanded in custody.
