A 36-year-old Port Erin man charged with manslaughter has been committed to the Court of General Gaol Delivery.
Stephen Ian Phillips, of Kitterland Lane, is yet to enter a plea to that charge but entered a not guilty plea to a charge of failing to discharge health and safety duties as an employer.

He was represented in court by advocate Stephen Wood and will appear at the higher court on a date to be set.
The company Stuart Clague Services Limited, based at Ballannette Park, Baldrine, is charged with two counts of breaching health and safety regulations in relation to the same incident.
They were represented in court by advocate Jim Travers who asked for an adjournment until October 5 as he said discussions were continuing with the prosecution.
The offences are alleged to have been committed on August 4 at King William’s College when air conditioning engineer Gary Skelding, aged 56, died on a building site.
Bail continues for Mr Phillips in the sum of £500 with conditions to live at his home address and not leave the island without court permission.
