Kristopher Robert Goldie, aged 28, of Poortown, Peel, has denied an assault causing actual bodily harm on his former partner.

He also pleaded not guilty to provoking behaviour, damaging property and two counts of destroying property.

Goldie is accused of hitting the woman in the face and beating her with a shower pole on the legs seven or eight times.

The case will be committed to the Court of General Gaol Delivery on December 7.

Bail was granted in the sum of £500 with a curfew in place between 9pm and 7am and conditions that he live at his home address, not contact the complainant, not enter a specific area of Peel, and not enter licensed premises or buy or be sold alcohol.
