A man who became abusive after staff at the Courthouse bar refused to serve him has been fined.
The 28-year-old was fined £600 and banned from entering licensed premises for two months after admitting disorderly behaviour on licensed premises.
Prosecutor Rebecca Cubbon told the court how, on December 20 at 10pm, Boyde was in a large group of people at the Courthouse bar in Athol Street. When bar staff refused to serve him he became loud and abusive.
He was asked to calm down but continued to be disruptive and was subsequently asked to leave the bar. However, Boyde refused to leave, despite two members of his group trying to persuade him.
Deputy High Bailiff Jayne Hughes heard that he had to be physically removed by bouncers but then, once outside, started banging on the door and shouting for about 15 minutes.
Police arrived and Boyde was said to be swearing and smelling of alcohol.
He was arrested and taken to police headquarters where he denied having been ejected from the bar.
He said that he was not too drunk and had only reacted due to the staff’s behaviour.
Boyde represented himself in court and accepted the prosecution case.
