On December 26 Kaighin damaged a cell at police headquarters in Douglas. On the same date, he was charged with assaulting a police officer during his arrest.
The prosecuting advocate, Rebecca Cubbon, said that on December 26 police went to Strang Stores in Braddan where officers discovered two males attempting to steal.
They resisted arrest and Kaighin swung his head towards a police officer, which drew blood on his lip. He was also spitting and kicking out towards the policeman before being blocked by another officer.
When he was arrested at the police station, he flooded his cell and threatened to defecate in it. Miss Cubbon said that the cell had suffered £75 worth of damage.
The drug offences occurred on June 5 at Noble’s Hospital. The prosecution said that Kaighin was in Ward 11 when a plastic wrap of cannabis was found in his stool sample.
Also found on him was a white bag containing cocaine. The defendant had admitted that it was for his own personal use.
Mr Glover stated that his client accepted the facts, pleading guilty to all counts against him
He will return to court on February 2 for the drug offences.
Mrs Hughes adjourned proceedings until then.
