Kieran Michael Cain, of Empire Terrace, admitted an offence of property damage as well as ones of being drunk and disorderly and being drunk and incapable.
Magistrates fined him £110 for the offences and ordered him to pay £450 compensation for the window.
He was also banned from entering licensed premises and buying or being sold alcohol for 12 months.
Prosecuting advocate Roger Kane told the court that, on July 15 at 8.30pm Cain was said to have kicked the window of an unoccupied unit in Duke Street and was then found shouting abuse and swearing in Strand Street where he was arrested for being drunk and disorderly.
On August 6, police were called to Kensington Road at 6.35pm where Cain was found drunk and incapable. He was subsequently taken to hospital by police.
On October 18 Cain was arrested again outside McDonald’s for being drunk and disorderly. This came after he was shouting at police and again had to be taken to hospital due to his condition deteriorating.
A probation report said that Cain had suffered a brain injury as a child which had left him with a number of issues.
The report said that he was being targeted by teenagers who would take advantage of him, taking money from him and encouraging him to drink.
The report said that Cain was receiving assistance from St Christopher’s after care.
Defence advocate David Clegg said that a bill for fixing the window showed an hourly rate for attending to fix the window of £250 per hour which he said was unreasonable.
The repair costs were shown as £910 but magistrates ruled that only £450 compensation should be paid.
