A memorial bench dedicated to a teacher at a Douglas primary has been targeted by mindless vandals.
Damage was caused to the concrete setting and the tribute plaque on top of the bench, at Cronk-Y-Berry primary school, has been forcibly removed.
A police statement said: ’The memorial bench dedicated to a teacher and has caused a great deal of upset within the school community.
’This instance of vandalism is one of many recent incidents that have occurred at this school and it is hoped someone in the community will come forward.’
The vandalism happened between Monday October 26 and Thursday October 29.
Police urge anyone with any information into this matter to contact PC Fitzgerald at Police Headquarters 631212 quoting investigation 97/5261/20.
