A 31-year-old Douglas man has been fined £300 for two motoring offences.
Jonathan Paul Hynes, of Springfield Avenue, admitted having no vehicle licence and failing to produce insurance.
He was also ordered to pay £50 prosecution costs by magistrates.
Prosecutor Roger Kane told the court how police stopped Hynes while he was driving a Ford Transit van on August 20 at 5.30pm at Springfield Avenue.
Checks showed that the tax had expired in October 2018.
He was given five days to produce insurance but failed to do so.
Defence advocate Andrew Baker said: ’He has held his hands up and rectified the tax situation.’
Mr Baker said that the offences had been down to poor administration on Hynes’ part.
Hynes said that he had lost the form ordering him to produce his insurance and had gone to a police station twice but did not have the officer’s name who was dealing with it.
He will pay the fine and costs at a rate of £200 per month.
