Damage totalling more than £2,000 was caused to several cars in an area of Castletown this month.
Between 8pm, Wednesday February 12 and 6am, Thursday February 13, significant damage was done to multiple vehicles in the Westhill Avenue.
Police said that the person or people responsible had used ’an unknown instrument’ to break the front and rear windscreens of six vehicles.
In particular one vehicle, a silver Citroen C4 sustained damage to both the front and rear windscreens as well as wipers and exterior mirror.
PC Adam Cubbon said: ’This kind of damage is both distressing and frustrating to the owners of the vehicles and will be at a considerable cost for them to have the vehicles repaired.
’Criminal damage at this level will result in prosecution and enquiries to apprehend offenders are continuing, I would like to hear form anyone who lives in the area or who may have seen any suspicious activity at the time the public can contact me on 631212.’
