A mother of two has been fined £500 after punching two women outside Bordello night club.

Carrie Mary Helen Margaret Clark, aged 23, of Edremony, Port Erin, admitted two counts of common assault and was also ordered by High Bailiff Jayne Hughes to pay £200 compensation to both victims.

She was also banned from licensed premises, and from purchasing or being sold alcohol for three months.

Prosecutor Roger Kane told the court how two women reported the incident outside the Douglas bar to police on June 8 at 3.30am.

As they were talking to the police Clark arrived on the scene and said: ’I fully admit I punched those two girls.’

However, she was then said to have tried to push past police to get at the women again.

After being arrested and interviewed she gave a ’no comment’ interview.

One of the women said she used to be friends with Clark and had seen her outside Bordello crying.

She said she asked her if she was okay but Clark responded by punching her on the nose.

The woman said she was shocked as this had come out of nowhere.

The second woman said she had pushed Clark out of the way but Clark then punched her on the jaw.

Clark told probation that she very rarely went out because of her children.

She said she was not used to drinking alcohol and on the night, had become intoxicated quite quickly.

She said she had previously been friends with one of the victims but had fallen out with her around four years ago.

Clark said that she became quite emotional on seeing her former friend after having consumed alcohol.

Regarding the second woman, Clark said she had previously been bullied by her.

She said that she had let her emotions get the better of her but could not recall assaulting the women.

The probation report said that Clark struggled with her mental health and had been prescribed medication.

High Bailiff Mrs Hughes told Clark: ’Mental health issues and alcohol do not mix well.’

She was also ordered to pay £125 prosecution costs.
