Nine men have appeared in court in connection with an incident which culminated in weapons allegedly being brandished during a melee in Marathon Road, Douglas.
On Tuesday, Kevin Coleman, aged 38, of Mona Drive, Douglas, pleaded not guilty to affray, two counts of possessing an offensive weapon, namely a cricket bat and a golf club, and one count of provoking behaviour.
Christopher Tomkinson, aged 33, of Tynwald Road, Willaston, pleaded not guilty to affray and possessing an offensive weapon, namely a knife.
Corey Dean Joseph Mason, aged 21, of Mona Street, Douglas, denied an offence of provoking behaviour.
Frank Harrison, aged 59, of Newtown Estate, Santon, pleaded not guilty to affray and driving while carrying a dangerous number of people in a vehicle.
Nathanial Gilbert, aged 23, of Ashbourne Avenue, Douglas, is yet to enter a plea to the charge of affray.
During previous court appearances, James Crook, aged 20, of Falcon Street, Douglas, denied provoking behaviour, while Sean Patrick Wiseman, aged 34, of St Catherine’s Close, Douglas, pleaded not guilty to affray.
Kyle Molyneux, aged 24, of Larivane Estate, Andreas, has previously pleaded not guilty to affray and possession of an offensive weapon.
Anthony Kevin Wiseman, aged 21, of Newtown, Santon, has previously denied affray, and two counts of possessing an offensive weapon.
The provoking behaviour offences relating to all defendants are alleged to have been committed at an address at Drury Terrace in Douglas on February 21 while all other offences are alleged to have taken place at Marathon Road on the same day.
Mr Molyneux and Anthony Wiseman were both refused bail by Jayne Hughes.
Mr Gilbert, Sean Wiseman, Mr Tomkinson, Mr Harrison, Mr Coleman, Mr Crook and Mr Mason have been granted bail in the sum of £500 with conditions not to contact witnesses or associate with co-defendants, a curfew between 10pm and 6am, and not to leave the island without court consent.
A pre-trial review will be held in summary court on April 28 for the provoking behaviour allegations while all other charges will be committed to the Court of General Gaol Delivery on the same date.
