A 38-year-old man who punched a bouncer at a Douglas bar has been fined £250.
Steven Alan Carridge, of Cushag Road, Anagh Coar, was also ordered to pay his victim £200 compensation.
He pleaded guilty to common assault with a second charge of being drunk and disorderly withdrawn.
Prosecuting advocate Barry Swain told the court that police were called to the Front Porch pub in Duke Street on October 18 at 8.20pm.
Security staff said that Carridge had been asked to leave the pub and had punched one of them while doing so.
The victim was struck on the cheek but not seriously injured and the assailant was restrained until police arrived.
A probation report said that Carridge was a single parent who was running his own business.
He told probation that he had been drinking in the pub, but said he was not intoxicated, when he was yanked out by two bouncers.
Carridge said he was angry and embarrassed so he had lashed out.
Defence advocate Louise Cooil said that there had been one strike, with her client lashing out without thinking about the consequences.
Magistrates also ordered Carridge to pay £125 prosecution costs, which he will pay along with the fine and compensation at a rate of £100 per month.
