A 42-year-old Douglas man has admitted possessing heroin, cocaine and cannabis.

Liam Richard Kaighin, of Empire Terrace, will be sentenced on December 12 after a probation report has been completed.

Kaighin had previously denied possession of the three drugs with intent to supply as well as possessing criminal property and those four charges were withdrawn.

Prosecuting, advocate Barry Swain told the court how police arrested Kaighin at his home and found the drugs in a Kinder egg, which he had hidden internally.

Two grams of heroin, worth between £250 and £500, 0.6 grams of cocaine worth £60, and 3.6 grams of cannabis, worth £22, were found in the egg.

A further search of Kaighin’s home found 0.2 grams of heroin worth £25 and 6.8 grams of cannabis worth £38.

Defence advocate Jim Travers asked for the probation report to be prepared saying that his client had endured an extremely tough last three years which the report would need to look at.

Bail was granted with conditions that Kaighin reside at his home address and not leave the island without court permission.
