One person was treated for smoke inhalation at the scene of a house fire in Douglas this afternoon. (Saturday)

The blaze in Woodlands View was confined to the lounge, said a spokesman for the fire service.

A breathing apparatus team entered the property and quickly extinguished the fire using a hose reel and crews then ventilated the property of smoke using a fan.

The spokesman added: ’One of the occupants was treated at the scene by our colleagues from the Isle of Man Ambulance service for smoke inhalation.’

Two Douglas crews attended the incident and on arrival, the officer in charge of the first appliance had quickly confirmed all persons were out of the property

Crews were in attendance for about 35 minutes.
