Two men have appeared in court and denied their involvement in a hit and run crash which saw a pensioner knocked down.
Caleb John Langton (Aka McBurnie), aged 23, of Mona Street, Douglas, pleaded not guilty to taking a vehicle without consent, dangerous driving, failing to stop after an accident, and threatening behaviour.
Karl Allen Cameron, aged 30, of Cronk y Berry, Douglas, denied being a passenger in a vehicle knowingly taken without consent and possession of class C drug pregabalin.
An 89-year-old man was injured at Port Jack on October 5 after being hit by a Mazda 2.
He suffered an abrasion to his arm.
Prosecutor Roger Kane told the court the case was suitable to be heard in summary court. Mr Langton was represented by advocate James Peterson while Mr Cameron was represented by David Clegg. They both agreed the case should remain in the lower court.
Magistrates chair Geoff Collier said they considered it marginal as to whether it should be committed to the Court of General Gaol Delivery but accepted jurisdiction.
Both men were granted bail in the sum of £1,000 with a curfew between 9pm and 7am. They must not enter licensed premises, purchase or be sold alcohol, or contact witnesses.
The case was adjourned until December 10 when a pre-trial hearing will take place.
