Peel Coastguard were called out this weekend to rescue a person stuck on Kirk Michael sand cliffs.
At about 4.45pm, the coastguard were paged with limited information regarding a member of the public stuck on a sand cliff north of Kirk Michael.
First having to locate the person, the coastguards then had to create a rescue plan at the scene, deciding to ascend to the individual and escort them back down.
A social media post from Peel Coastguard said: ’Once the casualty was safely back down they were given safety advice about climbing sand cliff and took back to their waiting parents who no doubt had there own advice to give them.
’The casualty did the correct thing by calling 999 and asking for the Coastguard.’
The coastguards added that while with the warmer weather the sand banks may look fun, they are often unstable and liable to land slides.
The message concluded saying anyone who has difficultly around the coast should ring 999 and ask for the coastguard.
