The emergency services freed a person trapped in their car following a crash this afternoon.

Douglas fire station said it received a call at 1.30pm to reports of a person trapped following a single vehicle crash in Onchan.

Police revealed the crash occurred on the Mountain Road near the Creg-Ny-Baa and led to the road being closed for over an hour.

The fire service said: ’On arrival crews liaised with Isle of Man Ambulance Paramedics on scene, who, after assessing for potential injuries, were able to safely assist the occupant from the badly damaged vehicle.

’Crews remained in attendance for approximately 20 minutes to assist with making the scene safe. The injuries are not thought to be serious.’
