The full-scale emergency took place shortly before 2pm today (Saturday) after a rally car came off the road and down the hillside.
Emergency services rushed to the scene, including police, coastguard and ambulance crews.
In a statement, Douglas Coastguard said it provided safety cover for the rally.
’Unfortunately our assistance was needed to assist paramedics and EMMU motorsport ambulance crew to remove a casualty from a vehicle.
’The casualty was removed and recovered to the roadway in our basket stretcher and then in to the care of St John Ambulance.
’Thankfully the injuries were not serious. The crew then assisted in the recovery of the vehicle.
’Douglas Coastguard would like to wish the driver and co-driver a swift recovery.’
The casualties were taken to Noble’s Hospital for treatment.
The stage was the 20th and penultimate of the three-day rally.
