The police are appealing for the driver of a white van who helped at the scene of a fatal collision on the Poortown Road to come forward.

Cyclist Matthew McSevney died following the crash, which happened on October 5.

In an update, officers said: ’Investigations are continuing into the fatal road traffic collision on the Poortown Road, Peel on Thursday, October 5.

’Officers from the Roads Policing Unit are appealing for the driver of a white van that was travelling generally towards Peel around 8.25am on October 5 to make contact with them.

’The male driver of this vehicle stopped at the scene and assisted by warning other road users by flashing the vehicles headlights.’

The driver is asked to contact Constable Davison on via police headquarters on 631212.
