A Douglas man has appeared in court after admitting possessing indecent images of children.
We previously reported that Jonathan Heard, of Loch Promenade, pleaded guilty to four counts of the charge. The case was adjourned while police continue to analyse devices seized from Heard, who is 46.
It is estimated that the analysis will be completed by January 31. Images are categorised using the Copine scale. The scale is used to assess the severity of images using a rating of one to five, with five being the most severe.
So far one device has been found to contain 617 images at level one, 37 at level two, three at level three, 85 at level four, and two at level five.
A second device analysed contained 349 images at level one, eight at level two, 19 at level three, 94 at level four, and four at level five.
On Tuesday, prosecuting advocate Hazel Carroon told the High Bailiff that one device contained 100,000 images and was still being examined, though not all of the images on it were indecent.
The case was adjourned until February 4 when it is hoped the police investigation will be complete. Heard was remanded in custody.
