Police have called for help in an investigation into an incident in which a taxi driver was assaulted.

The incident took place on Douglas Promenade, on the main road near the Gaiety Theatre.

It occurred at around 3.45am on Saturday, December 18.

Police have stated that people intervened during the incident and they therefore want to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident and could assist with inquiries.
