Police were called to Jaks bar on December 23 following a report that two men were threatening door staff.
Ford, aged 32, admitted disorderly behaviour on licensed premises and was banned from licensed premises for two months and fined £700.
Prosecutor Rebecca Cubbon told the court how, on December 23 at 2.45am, police received a 999 call from Jaks bar saying that two men were threatening door staff.
Staff at Jaks told police that Ford was in the bar arguing with a woman who was asking him to leave her alone.
She moved away but he followed and bouncers asked her if she was okay.
Ford then began shouting at the woman and told the bouncers that it was none of their business.
He was asked to leave and walked towards the door with another man.
However, once outside the two men starting shouting abuse until police arrived.
CCTV footage showed Ford remonstrating with staff and pointing aggressively with his finger in a bouncer’s face.
When interviewed by police, Ford said that he had been calm and that staff were aggressive, throwing him out for no reason.
Defence advocate Paul Glover asked for credit to be given for his client’s guilty plea and the fact that he had no similar convictions since 2011.
’He is incredibly sorry,’ said the advocate.
’He understands the doorman was simply doing his job.’
The Deputy High Bailiff told Ford: ’Door staff play a very important role in maintaining order on licensed premises.
’It is important what they said is adhered to.’
