Since lockdown started police have made 108 drug seizures, of which 27 were postal parcels.

They included Class A drugs heroin and cocaine, Class B drugs cannabis and pregablin and Class C drugs such as diazepam.

This includes an arrest today following an interception of cocaine in a parcel.

A police spokesman said: ’In the last 8 weeks we have all seen so much change that we have all had to adapt to. We, the Isle of Man Constabulary, have had to change every week to reflect the current laws and requirements made to keep us all safe.

’There has been a relaxation in the past few days and a bit more freedom for most people. With that freedom comes responsibility which is now firmly in the hands of the public.

’We must still all social distance when with others from outside our household and follow any other suitable precautions such as washing your hands on a regular basis. Those that don’t follow the rules are at best risking further lockdowns and at worst putting lives at risk.

’Over the lockdown period we have undertaken numerous patrols checking on vulnerable premises to ensure they were safe and secure ready for them to reopen, this has been successful.’
