Police are investigating an allegation that a woman’s drink was spiked at a bar in Douglas.
The incident is alleged to have taken place at a venue in central Douglas on Saturday night.
It is understood that the woman came to no harm and was looked after by a friend.
She reported the matter to the police who are investigating.
Police said there is nothing to indicate she was in immediate danger from any particular individual although she felt uncomfortable and decided to leave the premises.
The Constabulary’s alcohol unit said it has not received any other reports of ’spiking’ from the same venue.
A spokesman for the police alcohol unit urged revellers to be vigilant.
She said: ’The female has reported to us that she thinks her drink was "spiked" and as a result we are investigating the matter.’
And she advised: ’Never leave your drink unattended.
’If someone offers to buy a drink for you who is a stranger be vigilant. Ensure you look out for your friends and they look out for you.’
