Police have issued a reminder to motorists about the suspension of parking in two areas of Laxey.

The suspensions are in place for the Festival of Motorcycling fortnight and apply to the main road through the village from just past the Queen’s pub to the Laxey Commissioners office and from the Co-Op to the tram crossing by the Mines Tavern.

Both areas are indicated by police no waiting cones.

Police say: ‘This suspension of parking applies for the entire fortnight and not just when the roads are closed.

‘Previously the cones have been moved by people which is an offence.

‘Officers will be enforcing the suspension of parking and issuing £60 fixed penalty notices where necessary.’
