Police have warned residents to be wary of a scam over the phone.
A male has called a number of Ramsey residents pretending to be from the ’Law Enforcement Agency.’
He has asked for details of residents’s National Insurance numbers and, if he hasn’t received these, threatened to ’freeze their National Insurance.’
The number he has been calling from begins with 0203.
Through Facebook, the police have advised to treat every incoming call you haven’t initiated with ’the greatest suspicion.’
They also reminded residents not to give out any personal information or let themselves be drawn into a conversation, just to hang up the phone if they hear anything suspicious.
