Isle of Man police have confirmed they have closed part Douglas Promenades between the sea terminal and the junction between Sam Webb’s and The Sefton.
Officer Gavin Callow said: ’The high tide and the strong winds will be causing debris to wash up and the area may have to be swept before it can reopen.’
Police are also advising pedestrians to avoid the area.
There was also damage to the railings by the war memorial where a section has been washed away and large quantities of sea weed has been deposited.
Church Road Marina, Finch Road and part of Duke Street had also remained closed this morning following safety concerns as roof tiles fell onto the roads below.
The pictures from the damage to the TT cafe and bottle neck car park were provided by PC Collings and PC Noble.
