A 33-year-old man has appeared in court charged with possessing £24,500-worth of cocaine and intent to supply.

Anthony John Richard Lyons of Edremony Estate, Port Erin, appeared before High Bailiff Jayne Hughes yesterday via live link from police headquarters.

Lyons pleaded not guilty to both charges relating to his arrest on Tuesday, January 13, at his address.

The court heard that 245g of cocaine was seized by police after a parcel was intercepted addressed to another person on Edremony Estate.

Ms Hughes remanded Lyons in custody until his next appearance in court on January 21, when he will make his application for bail on both counts.
