Legal costs of £5,280.75 have been paid in respect of a case in which charges against a businessman were dropped.

Andrew Gray Hardy, aged 48, of Andreas Road, Ramsey, was cleared of four counts of falsifying records and three of theft after the case was said to have not met the evidential threshold.

The case was adjourned last week for legal costs to be established and these were clarified by advocate Dawn Jones who represented Mr Hardy.

High Bailiff Jayne Hughes ordered the costs be paid from central funds.
