Two police officers have been thanked by the owners of a Ramsey guest house for their support investigating an incident of damage at their property.
Constables Dave Williams and Claire Craine have been nominated for Isle of Man Newspapers’ Community Police Officer of the Year award by Dr Malcolm Fargher.
Dr Fargher, who has run Armadale Guest House in North Shore Road with his wife Lorena for 21 years, said there was ’chaos’ following the incident.
Both constables visited the guest house several times in the week that followed.
’We are extremely grateful,’ Dr Fargher said.
’They kept us informed during the investigation and were very helpful, pleasant and competent.
’It is very reassuring that you can get valuable help when you need it.’
PC Williams confirmed that the investigation into the issue was ’resolved’.
He described his role within the community as ’rewarding’. ’It’s nice to be recognised by the public,’ he told the Manx Independent.
’We do a lot of work within the community, but some of it is unrecognised.’
The constable first joined the Ramsey team in July last year. He previously worked for the Greater Manchester Police.
’Working in the Isle of Man is completely different,’ he said. ’There were high level crimes in Manchester and different things going on compared to here.’
