A 28-year-old man has admitted receiving £1,760-worth of cannabis in the post.
Delano Bourdiec, of Conister Road, Douglas, was committed to the Court of General Gaol Delivery for sentencing after magistrates declined jurisdiction in summary court.
Bourdiec pleaded guilty to being concerned in the production of the drug to the island.
He will appear at the higher court on October 23.
Prosecuting advocate Hazel Carroon told the court that police were called to the Isle of Man Post Office sorting office on May 12 after a report of a suspicious package.
A parcel addressed to Bourdiec was opened and found to contain 88 grams of cannabis.
He was arrested and when interviewed by police admitted ordering the drug, saying that he had become desperate during the Covid-19 lockdown.
Bourdiec was represented in court by advocate Louise Cooil.
A probation report will be prepared before sentencing.
Bail was granted in the sum of £500 with conditions that Bourdiec live at his home address and contact probation.
